Quality Incentive Program
KCP is committed to maintaining the value-based purchasing system within the Medicare ESRD program, now known as the Quality Incentive Program (QIP). The QIP is the first true pay-for- performance system in the Medicare program, with quality-related payment reductions beginning in January 2012. KCP continues to work with CMS to ensure that this system improves over time to ensure an accurate assessment of the care provided to beneficiaries receiving life-sustaining dialysis treatments.
