Kidney Care Partners Applauds the Confirmation of Alex M. Azar II as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services

WASHINGTON, DC — Kidney Care Partners (KCP), the nation’s largest kidney coalition comprised of physician groups, providers, patient advocacy groups, manufacturers and researchers, today applauded the U.S. Senate and House approval of Alex Azar as the new Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The KCP community strongly supported Mr. Azar’s nomination and is confident that with his experience, he will be able to effectively lead our nation’s complex healthcare system, ensure access to quality kidney care and innovations, and sustain quality improvements.

“As Secretary Azar undertakes his new role, we are optimistic that important changes and improvements will be made to our healthcare system,” said Dr. Allen Nissenson, chair of KCP. “We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with HHS to ensure access and quality care for those living with kidney disease.”
